Now in our 25th year of continuous ministry, we seek to provide free clothing to those in need. Recipients are sent by the Mahwah Department of Human Services, Center for Food Action, Ramapo Indian Council, or by Pastor Mary Stegink. We have also helped Catholic Charities, Jersey Cares, NJSACC, Hudson Valley DDSO, Midnight Run for the Homeless, plus several residents in need.
We accept gently used women's, men's and children's clothes, shoes and accessories (we do not take men's suits). Due to limited space and storage, we can only accept seasonal items, and ask that you hold out-of-season donations until that time of year. Donations can be dropped off at the Clothing Closet on Wednesday's between 9:30 am and 11:30 am. If you are unable to come at this time, donations can be brought to the church office Monday-Friday, 9:30 am-1:00 pm.
We hold four (quarterly) Saturday Bag Sales open to everyone. All proceeds from the sale go to the ongoing community ministry of the Church.
FREE clothes are available for those in need. Referrals from any social services program or agency are accepted. Mahwah residency is not required. Call 201-529-3075 for more information, and an appointment will be made with volunteers of the Clothing Closet.
Our volunteers receive and sort clothing donations each Wednesday morning (9:30 am-12:00 pm). Please call the church (201-529-3075) if you are interested in volunteering.
We are located at 100 Island Road, Mahwah, New Jersey. The Clothing Closet is at the rear of the Education Building of the Ramapo Reformed Church located on the corner of Island Road and West Ramapo Avenue.
